Hanna Wood

Artist / Printmaker

My roots are deeply intertwined with this land – the red earth, the ancient rocks, and the sentinel mountains.  I recall boundless grass paddocks of childhood, where boulders transformed into fantastical ships and mythical creatures.  Mount Bartle Frere, a constant presence, stands strong and reliable in the distance.

Hanna’s artistic journey began at Queensland University of Technology and deepened through her experiences at Doggett St. Art Studio and the University of Queensland Art Museum, Brisbane.  These professional environments exposed Hanna to diverse artistic styles and endeavours, fuelling her passion and creativity.

As an exhibiting artist through the regional gallery network and showcase exhibitions in Brisbane – both solo and group – Hanna’s understanding and dedication to artistic principles, extension, and refinement has allowed her practice to thrive and carry forward new journeys of expression.

Now a dedicated visual art teacher, she primarily explores printmaking at her studio, Artisan House by Kennelbrook® in Malanda, where she also leads creative arts workshops and artist talks.

Do you ever dream you hear it?  Does it bring the memories back with the curlew and the moonlight on the trees?
